Jane Fisher: Children’s Ministry Director
I consider children’s ministry one of the most important ministries of the church. It is a ministry that is not limited to the director; it needs to be a part of each individual parishioner’s ministry. That ministry can manifest itself in many ways: knowing a child’s name and using it to praise them, smiling at a child as they run past you (even if they almost knock you down), offering a visiting child a coloring page and crayons (that are located in the back of the church), and so much more. The more comfortable and happy the children are at church, the more they will want to attend and participate. As they grow, they will become involved in parish functions and bring their friends and later…their own family. The children are our future.
